Lucky bamboo caring tips

1. First of all please make sure the lucky bamboo you buy from the shop is health(no yellow leaves, no smelly from the roots, no black or red spots on the bottom tips of the plant).

2. Minerals in water are good for lucky bamboo roots to make leaves more green, so ceramic pots or glass containers with pebbles are your first choice to grow lucky bamboo.

3. Alkalizing water is better than acid water to feed lucky bamboo, spring water or lemon juice water is a way of alkalizing water.

4. It is no necessary to change all the water if your lucky bamboo growing well, just add more when the water absorbed by the plant or evaporated into the air.

5. Add much more water than usual before you are leaving home for a certain period of time, in fact lucky bamboo have strong life to be alive without water for one week.

6. Tap water must stand 24 hours before adding. The water level should cover the roots by 3-4cm.

7. It is best to wash away the dust which covers the leaves, as it will affect the plant’s photosynthesis. Lucky bamboo cannot be placed in direct sunlight, as it will make the leaves turning yellow.

8. Micronutrients can be added to the soil if you find your lucky bamboo isn’t very green or if a new stalk is cut from the original plant for reproduction, and add liquid iron when you water the lucky bamboo once every 3-4 monthes.

9. To keep out of the mosquito some gel or pebbles can be added into the water that eggs of mosquito will not be easy alive.

10. Keep lucky bamboo away from the sun or the sun light if you use glass vase water it, because algae can grow rapidly around the roots in the water.

11. You need to spray water on the leaves if the air is too dry, this will help to relieve the tips or edges of leaves drying.

12. To wash all roots and trim some dead ones before putting lucky bamboo into water. Do not worry; the root system will generate new roots very soon.
